As I stated in the last blog post, I have researched about Logotype recently.

I will gradually share my found knowledge here.

Today topic is one of the principles of an effective logotype design, the relevance.

When you want to design an effective logotype,

you need to design your logotype relevant to the brand, product, target group and business category.

But you don’t need to tell everything the brand or company do.

For example, a logotype should present brand character and reflect brand nature like this legendary logotype, Coca-Cola.

Tips for creating relevance:

  • Do research and generate ideas from what the brand is.

  • Typeface is the key factor to present brand character in a logotype.

Measurement:

Check your design with the brand essential or brand book.
