Continuing with the 2 last blog posts, today I would like to share another principle of an effective logotype design that I have found from my research.

This 3rd principle, "Make it reproducible" is an important one.

When you design a logotype or a logo, you should make sure your design can be placed in any media, any sizes and any backgrounds.

Because your client may have various kinds of media and nowadays media have opportunities to change all the time.

So be prepared!

Tips to make your design reproducible:

  • Simplicity is the key.

  • Try reducing size to the smallest size of media that you can imagine a brand will apply its logo on. It could be pens or clothing labels.

Measurement:

Logo Design Love book said a solid logo should ideally work in one inch without loss of detail.

So you should try reducing your design to fit in 1 inch box.
