Continuing with the last blog post, today I would like to share another principle of an effective logotype design that I have found from my research.

2nd principle that you need to know when you want to design an effective logotype is

to keep it simple.

Your design should not include unnecessary elements,

because simple visual is easier to recognise and remember.

And simplicity helps you achieve most of principles of logotype design.

For example, simple logo is effectively applied across media.

Tips to create simplicity:

  • Focus on one thing.

  • Cut off unnecessary elements.

Measurement: Check if you have any unnecessary additional elements in your design or not.
